Descriptor

This qualification provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this Certificate II allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery and shopfitting as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction.

This Certificate II is designed to introduce learners to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provide meaningful credit in a construction industry.

In order to successfully complete this qualification you must complete a total of 12 units of competency, 6 core units and 6 elective units.

CPCCCM1014 Conduct workplace communication
CPCCCM1015 Carry out measurements and calculations
CPCCCM2001 Read and interpret plans and specifications
CPCCWHS2001 Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry

CPCCCA2002 Use carpentry tools and equipment
CPCCCA2003A Erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on ground
CPCCCM2010B Work safely at heights
CPCCCM2006 Apply basic levelling procedures
CPCCWF2002A Use wall and floor tiling tools and equipment
CPCCCA2011A Handle carpentry materials
