This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in civil construction, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge.
This course is designed to provide new participants with the theoretical and practical skills and knowledge required to work in the civil construction and maintenance industry across a wide range of related specialist areas. People undertaking this course may learn a range of skills including infrastructure and building site preparation, environmental and safety requirements, operation of machinery and equipment, installing pipework and drainage systems, spreading and compacting materials and carrying out concrete work.
People who have experience in the industry but do not have recognised qualifications can also utilise this course as means of getting their current skills and competencies recognised through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.
