NEW WORKER TRAINEESHIP/APPRENTICESHIP
A traineeship/apprenticeship is an opportunity for your employees to work full-time or part-time whilst undertaking on the job training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

The purpose of traineeships/apprenticeships is to attract and retain young talent by developing opportunities for new employees of up to 3 months who have entry level or no previous qualifications. It provides an opportunity to improve skill levels, retain staff and provide career development for employees.

Indicative Course Fees
Course Fees are determined by the course and subjects chosen based on the number of hours in each chosen subject:

• Certificate II to IV $3.25 per hour*
From 1 January 2020, under the new Lower fees, local skills program the following selected qualification's course fees will be capped per year so that the maximum course fees will be $1200 or $400 if you're aged 15-24 or are eligible for a concession.

PARTICIPATION PROGRAM & PRIORITY INDUSTRY TRAINING (PIT) PROGRAM
Carey Training is on a panel of providers to deliver subsidised training to eligible students.

Existing Workers:
Under Jobs and Skills WA, the State Government subsidises eligible existing workers to undertake traineeships in higher level (Certificate IV and above) priority courses.

Indicative Course Fees
• Up to Certificate III $4.88 per hour
The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as Student service and resource fees.

Skill Sets are free for below eligible students;
• Persons aged 15—24 years at the time of enrolment (excluding school students)
• Secondary school-aged persons who are not enrolled at school
• Persons receiving the JobSeeker or JobKeeper payment
• Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
• Persons and dependents of persons holding: a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution


ASBT - ABORIGINAL SCHOOL BASED TRAINING
Carey Training is on a panel of providers to deliver subsidised training to Aboriginal and Torre Strait Island students while at school

To be eligible, a school must confirm a program with Carey Training and then apply to DTWD.

* RII20120 Cert II in Resource and Infrastructure work preparation
