Indigenous Training

Indigenous Training

Carey Training is an Aboriginal owned and operated private Registered Training Organisation that was established in 2002, primarily to respond to the training needs of Indigenous clients located throughout South Australia, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia. We are committed to the advancement of Aboriginal people through high quality and culturally appropriate training services that generate employment opportunities and career progression.

Carey Training is totally committed to providing flexible, responsive and tailored training solutions that are designed to grow organisations through skilling their people and future staff. Our qualified trainers will deliver a highly professional program in a dynamic and interactive environment with a range of culturally appropriate learning techniques that maximise learning outcomes.

01
Our Training

Carey Training’s number one objective is to form strong, trusting and mutually beneficial relationships with organisations, their staff and all Indigenous clients and course participants to ensure that the training delivered assists in the acquisition of skills and knowledge that is current, relevant and to the required industry standards.

02
Our Services

Pre-employment / Apprenticeship Training
We offer a range of pre-employment programs that include the development of employability skills and knowledge such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and initiative and work health and safety. Additionally, where identified and appropriate, language, literacy and numeracy training is also provided.

The course content is negotiated with organisations and industry and conducted, wherever appropriate, within the community to ensure participants are well prepared for effective and productive transition into the workplace as well as providing a visible return for the community.

We also deliver a range of training programs for new or existing staff to either enable a quick transition into the workplace or up-skill staff through higher level training and qualifications. Our objective is for new and existing staff of an organisation that go through our training programs to grow their careers and become more productive in their workplace roles.

Organisations are also encouraged to negotiate with Carey Training to deliver short courses and a range of various skill sets that may be required for a specific operational requirement and / or an individual’s job role.

03
Flexible Training

Carey Training offer a range of options such as training being delivered entirely on site at the community or employers premises with the course content and delivery structure negotiated to meet operational requirements while minimizing the impact on normal business activities. This will include scheduled face to face visits by a Carey Training trainer who provides ongoing support and mentoring via email, telephone and additional visits for the duration of the program.

We also offer classroom based training, where appropriate, at either the employer’s premises, at our location or a neutral venue where groups of participants can undertake carefully constructed and dynamic programs. These programs include relevant theoretical work and practical activities directly related to the workplace and are delivered in a manner that is responsive to the participant’s learning needs.
